The painting titled Turning Point presents a solitary figure standing out on the edge of an empty swimming pool, whose dry bottom contains dozens of lifesaving equipment. One can sense the presence of thick vegetation that will gradually overshadow the entire scene, reclaiming its natural spaces. Throughnthis artwork the artist first and foremost sought to reflect on the great changes that mark each of our lives—those turning points, those choices that inevitably lead to reflection on the past, on what is right and healthy to save, and on what is best left behind before moving on. Through the compositional structure and choice of elements, the painting also nods to the climate crisis and the waste emergency, themes deeply felt by the artist and recurring in other works.
